Dear Parents and guardians:
Welcome back
To another school year at St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Kinkora. A special welcome to our new families: Dan and Rosalie DeJong, Jackie McLennan, Albert and Vicky Van Herk, and Rob and Kathleen vonEuw. This is the first of our school newsletters in which our parents will find information about the school and coming events. In addition to the bi-monthly newsletters, information will be posted on our school website and classes will be sending home newsletters to provide specific information about grade level events. These will all be sent electronically unless hard copies are requested.
We have a few new faces on our staff. We would like to express a warm welcome
Mandy Murray, French Teacher and Sandy Murray, EA replacing Kate Van Moorsel who
was blessed with a daughter in June – great to have both of you here at St.
Pat’s. We also
welcome
Nikki Simons as a practice teacher from Nippissing University.
This year promises many faith-filled activities for our students and perhaps the best way for parents to learn more is to come to our St. Pat’s Community BBQ on September 18 at 6:00 pm. This event will allow parents to meet their children’s teachers and find out about some of the activities in the classes for the coming school year. Supper will be provided compliments of our PTA and the Ontario Pork Producers but don’t forget to bring some money for the gift basket raffle. More information about this fun event to follow. Hope to see everyone there.
Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers are required for the Reading Intervention Program. This valuable program is designed to reinforce reading skills in primary level students. Please contact the school if you are interested in volunteering your time to help with this excellent program.

Green Go
This year our school will be trying to go greener. As Steward’s of Creation, our first project will be garbageless lunches. We are encouraging all families to think green when they pack their lunches this year and to use recyclable materials whenever possible. You will be not only helping our earth but our children's future as well.
No Child Without
No Child Without is a community-based charitable program that offers all elementary school aged children with medical conditions or allergies, free MedicAlert protection. Brochures had been distributed to all students in the spring of this year. New students enrolled this September will receive the brochure. For more information please see the attached flyer.
Anaphylaxis & Allergy Policy
St. Patrick’s is a Nut Safe School. Staff and students are asked to abstain from bringing any nuts or products containing nuts into the school. This may involve reading some labels and avoiding food items like peanut butter, some granola bars, and any other items containing nuts.
